- The quality of air supplied to the breathing apparatus should be tested at suitable intervals, depending on the task and the frequency of use
- When the air supply is from mobile compressors, the employer should ensure that, wherever a compressor is located, the quality of air it supplies is not compromised by nearby contaminates
- Compressors which are moved from site to site, such as those used by the emergency services or on construction sites, will require a higher standard of maintenance and should be sited so that the quality of the air they provide is not compromised by nearby contaminants
